The Amethyst Gulch Sierras are a region of the Fey Realm, part of the Seelie territory.

Description[]

Located near the Sablecast Grounds on the outskirts of Unseelie territory, the Amethyst Gulch Sierras are a lucid purple and blue range of mountain cliffs, chaotic wooded valleys,[1] and seemingly sourceless waterfalls.[2] They are not far from the Malleus Key destroyed by Bells Hells prior to the Apogee Solstice.[3]

This region is currently in a region of the Feywild with a dusk-like purplish sky, but back when it was still inhabited by the Pravenier, the light of the sky had an amber coloration.[4]

Points of interest[]

Pravenier[]

This city, inhabited by its homonymous community, was built on the top of one of the mountains, behind walls, and had a shape reminiscent of an hourglass. There were some towers, and each of the buildings, even if it had common elements with the others, had its own individual style of expression. After the mass poisoning, nature reclaimed the settlement, and today it is covered by flora of blue, green, and gray tones, with the corpses of its former inhabitants still below.[5]

Among the points of interest in Pravenier are:

  • Shrine of Gilded Gifts: An old temple of the Arch Heart, made of cerulean stone and adorned with purple crystals and emerald ornamentation, with two fountains inside.[6] The Shrine, by then overgrown with vines,[7] was the location of a meeting between a simulacrum of Ludinus Da'leth and Sorrowlord Zathuda, on one side, and representatives of the Unseelie Court on the other.[8]

History[]

The Sierras once were the home of a vibrant Seelie community known as the Pravenier, who were dedicated to the arts and honored the Arch Heart through it, until they suffered a mass poisoning because of something affecting their water which caused them to bleed profusely through their eyes, nose, mouth, and ears.[9] The city was abandoned, and both its structures and the corpses of its inhabitants have been reclaimed by the wilds around it, haunted by spirits mourning their unfinished works of art. Pieces of art and jewelry are occasionally found there, including a few pieces owned by Fearne Calloway.[10]

After the apogee solstice of 843 PD Ludinus Da'leth, displeased with the lack of collaboration of the Unseelie Court who were allies of his Ruby Vanguard, met via Simulacrum with some of their representatives in the Shrine of Gilded Gifts.[11] During this meeting, however, chaos ensued when Laudna Animated the statue of the Arch Heart and Fearne Calloway transmuted many stone elements of the temple into mud.[12] A battle took place in which the entire temple was destroyed, only to be immediately repaired by the Arch Heart themself. The restoration, however, still showed the cracks and previous signs of deterioration.[13] Before the adventurers left, Braius (who had previously stomped on and cracked the depiction of the Arch Heart on the floor) left a mustache drawn on its repaired face.[14]

Trivia[]

  • Pravenier means "kaleidoscopic tapestry" in Elvish.[15]
