Amaris was the firbolg husband of Trist and the father of her children during the Calamity. As an NPC, Amaris is played by Brennan Lee Mulligan.
Description[]
Appearance[]
Amaris was a firbolg man with fuzzy ears that his children inherited, and smelled of petrichor and pine.[1]
Personality[]
He was a kind man and loving husband who supported his wife and wasn't afraid to be at risk if that meant helping her.
Biography[]
Background[]
During the first century of the Calamity Amaris met Trist, a human woman, and they got married, having two children together, Haylie and Topher.[2]
"Downfall: Part One" (3x99)[]
Amaris and his family traveled to Hawk's Hill to wait for the Aeorian ship that would take his wife and her companions to the flying city. During their time in the town Amaris was affectionate with Trist, and confirmed that she wanted him to stay on the ground with their children and their dog, Gilly, taking them all to his parents' home; although the firbolg was somewhat concerned about Trist's plan, he agreed, and when they were saying goodbye, he reminded her to use her sending stone if she needed help, making his eyes look like those of an eagle for a moment to let her know he was willing to fly up to Aeor to rescue her.
After Trist left Amaris stayed with Haylie, Topher, and Gilly, with Purvan Suul and Galdric as unexpected guardians to protect them on their way to their destination. The firbolg was taking care of a nervous old gnome woman, who had been rejected by the Aeorians because she was a follower of Pelor.
"Downfall: Part Three" (3x101)[]
While Trist was trying to help destroy the Factorum Malleus in Aeor she was contacted through her sending stone by Topher, who asked her for help since Hawk's Hill was under attack. Amaris took the stone and told his wife about Purvan, so she assured him that they could trust him. The firbolg wanted to stay with the stone and keep talking to her, but then Trist confessed she wouldn't be able to return, asking him to get to safety with their children. Amaris answered, telling her he would do everything he could, but before they could finish the conversation the communication was cut.
Relationships[]
Trist[]
Amaris loved his wife and valued her intelligence. He may have been aware of her connection with the divine, agreeing to let her go on the mission to Aeor accompanied by Ayden because he believed she would return in a few days; however, he had his doubts about this, but refused to think that his wife might not get back,[3] until she explicitly confirmed it hours later, when saying goodbye to her family.[4]

Trivia[]
- His name derives from the Hebrew Amariah (promised by God).
- He smells of petrichor and pine.
- He wasn't good at math.[8]
- Given that he is a firbolg, and most likely a druid too, he is probably able to communicate with Gilly (his big mountain rescue dog) with ease.
- When Asmodeus adopted his divine form in Aeor, he took the appearance of Amaris when Trist arrived to the room. He stated that he looked like the most beautiful person she had ever seen, implying that Amaris was a particularly handsome man and/or that because of their love, to his wife he was the most beautiful person.
- The Everlight kept his coat to remember him, even after her mortal physical body was gone.[9]
