Aldreda Seriblo, previously known as Aldreda Tavelle, is a tiefling woman and the younger sister of Lucien Tavelle.
Description[]
Appearance[]
Aldreda was a beautiful tiefling woman with red eyes,[2] magenta skin and black hair styled in braids through which her horns speared.[3]
Personality[]
In her youth Aldreda had a dreamy nature, and aspired to build a successful life.[4] Over the years, she became more suspicious, protecting what she had achieved and distrusting possible changes.[5]
Biography[]
Aldreda was born in 811 PD[6] as the third and youngest child (and the only daughter) of a married couple of the Greying Wildlands. She had two older brothers, Elric and Lucien, the latter being only one year her senior. Their parents were artists who usually played music while their children danced, sang or performed plays, Aldreda being particularly good and singing and dancing, twirling for minutes without getting dizzy;[7] however, their parents were abusive, hitting Elric despite being the best performer,[8] while Lucien tried to protect himself and his sister.[9] Things got worse after Elric was killed due to a debt with the Jagentoth family, and Lucien's parents, obsessed with getting their best performer back, talked to a witch in the Savalirwood, Azrahari, who turned Elric's corpse into a strange puppet that his parents kept around, horrifying their other two children, and even using the puppet to support their arguments, like when Aldreda criticized how they performed a certain play.[10]
At some point Lucien couldn't stay there any longer, so he burned down the caravan with his parents and the puppet inside, and he left with his sister.[11] She, eventually, travelled to Rexxentrum under the promise of working cleaning houses until she could find a powerful husband or lover; she wrote to Lucien from time to time, and he expected to eventually move in with her when the time was right.[12]
Time passed, and eventually Aldreda started working in the house of the silversmith Panvel Seriblo in the Court of Colors in Rexxentrum.[13] She cleaned the house and took care of the family and the son of the Seriblos, Kyvir,[14] and in 829 PD the boy's mother, the lady of the house, died of fever in winter.[15] Aldreda became indispensable in the house, then, and wrote Lucien to offer him work and a place to stay, but he didn't reply immediately, as he was trying to get his own money so he wouldn't present himself to his sister as a burden.[16] This led her to believe her brother didn't wish to keep in touch with her, or that he had died.
In 831 PD Lucien met with Vess DeRogna in Rexxentrum to present her with a relic, and the archmage secretly paid him by giving him information about where his sister lived.[17] Lucien visited her, with enough money to start a new life, discovering she had become the second wife of her former employer, Panvel,[18] becoming the stepmother of Kyvir and having a daughter of her own, Marii.[19] Aldreda, however, hardly recognized her brother after so many years, and when he offered to start a new life elsewhere with the gold he had saved she turned him down, unwilling to risk the life she had made in the city.[20]

Trivia[]
- Her name comes from the Old English name Æthelthryth, composed by the elements æthel (noble) and þrýð (strength).
- Her name could be an anagram of "Daldred", the name of a character from a play her family used to perform.[21]
- Although she's a tiefling, like his brother, it is unknown if she's also a Devil's Tongue variant.
- According to Lucien, her voice was very similar to their mother's after many years without hearing it.[22]
- She seemed to handle the family accounts.
- While she didn't state it openly, Aldreda told her brother that she had suffered to get to where she was, hinting that her life and marriage might not be happy.[23]
- Assuming she and Marii were still alive between 835 and 836 PD, they would be the only known blood relatives of Molly and Kingsley Tealeaf, even if they ignored their existance and lacked any sort of bond with Lucien's family.
