Aetheon is a feral angel of Tansul. As an NPC, he is played by Brennan Lee Mulligan.
Description[]
Aetheon, as a captive, was 30 feet tall with claws and several rows of teeth like a shark, although not pointed. His body was shining and his bodily fluids glowed. His wings were plucked,[2] and his face was ravaged by pain and misery.[3][4]
Biography[]
Background[]
Aetheon was the servant of Tansul, one of the Shapers and god of the sun. When Tansul was slain, Aetheon, like other celestials, went feral.[5] Eventually he was captured by House Halovar, being secretly turned into the base of their new religion, the Candescent Creed, and the source of their Filament.[2][6]
Campaign Four: Overture[]
Aetheon has spent decades imprisoned, tortured, and mad. His existence was revealed to his younger grandson, Wicander Halovar, after he started making questions about the Light, and the Photarch used the feral angel to help him understand the true nature of their faith. During the conversation, Aetheon was constantly making tortured noises, trying to move and attack those outside the Prismatic Retort.[7][8]
Relationships[]
Yanessa Halovar[]
When she was a young woman, Yanessa found Aetheon already out of his mind, completely feral, and decided to take control of him so he wouldn't fall into dangerous hands. She saw him as the source for House Halovar to access the Light of the cosmos,[5], using his bodily fluid as a material component to have a Wish granted: to become a mother, thus making the angel the genetic and magical sire of Godard Halovar.[9]

Trivia[]
- His name comes from the Ancient Greek aithôn (burning/shining), a name given to some immortal horses who carried the chariots of different gods of Greek mythology (including Helios, the Sun). It can also derive from the Ancient Greek term for "eagle", aetos.[10]
- His son Godard has eagle-like wings covered in luminous feathers.[11]
