Acastriel is about seven-and-a-half feet[3] or eight feet tall, and gorgeous.[4]
Biography[]
Acastriel was one of the solars who acted as the lieutenants of Pelor at the beginning of the Calamity.[5] However, when the gods stopped fighting and reached a truce, this angel learned about their plans of incarnating as mortal avatars to infiltrate Aeor. After sharing this information with other angels, Acastriel and other divine servants, equally disappointed in the way their leaders were handling the war, decided to abandon the cause of the pantheon, traveling to Aeor and giving them information. In that process he received the subtle assistance of the disguised avatar of Asmodeus, who gave him a glass emblem containing the sealed avatar of Ioun,[6] after which the Betrayer himself, through his illusion of Father Milo Cowst, shared rumors and gossip about the angel with the other avatars. That same day Acastriel and one of his followers, Garathran, met in the Ars Elysia, and barely twenty minutes after the solar left, SILAHA and Emhira (avatars of Corellon and the Raven Queen) found Garathran and interrogated him about Acastriel and his cause.[7]
Later that same day the solar was protecting the Factorum Malleus with Adamar Cadrow and Selena Erenves when SILAHA approached them to speak with the latter. Acastriel, suspicious, used his powers to determine that the Aeormaton was, in fact, one of the mortal avatars that had infiltrated the city, and a battle ensued. During the fight, the very angered angel didn't hold back, attacking Ayden and cursing the Dawnfather, and trying to kill Emhira, without success. When SILAHA cast Meteor Swarm, his spell caused a lot of deaths, including Acastriel's.[8]
Character information[]
Abilities[]
Acastriel seemed to utilize the standard solar statblock, including Legendary Actions,[9] immunity to necrotic damage, and Divine Awareness, allowing him to know when he heard a lie.[10] The only exception seems to be that he could force a creature to instantly die using his sword instead of his bow.[11]

Quotations[]
- "Do you know what they are doing? Do you know what they're doing? It's a war to us. To them it is a squabble."[12]
- Acastriel: "They are monsters!"
Archmage: "You were made to be loyal to them."
Acastriel: "I am loyal to the truths that they espoused. A flaw of my creation. I cannot abandon the truths they laid before me. They can. They left me."[13]
Trivia[]
- The main reason Acastriel rebelled against the pantheon was that to him, the Prime Deities had always been distant and ineffable, and to know the details of their conflict and see them acting so close and understandable, but betraying values that they were supposed to represent simply by being "family" to the Betrayer Gods, was too much for the solar.[14]
