We know there's going to be a good amount of homebrew (new subclasses, new feats, new spells, new backgrounds by Jeremy Crawford and Chris Perkins) in this campaign. I mean, the three campaigns have plenty of homebrew elements in them but this time, we've been given a heads up for C4.
It's safe to assume that Wicander is not your ordinary Cleric with probably a homebrew subclass.
I thought it was the case but since both Tag Team at the Teeth two-part one-shot, it seems Ludinus is curiouly moving for someone who tries to hide.
Maybe it's just me but I think he's up to something, again. What? I don't know.
It all depends if there's other entities like the gods somewhere out there.
They might expand on Taryon's arc with more backstory stuff and also, expand on Pike's backstory and perhaps her family too.
Definitely the cities that have been featured in the campaigns. Emon and Whitestone, absolutely!
I can also see Rexxentrum, Rosohna, Ank'Harel, Yios. I can even see the ruins of Aeor, that woud be a really dope scenery.
Yeah I can see that.
That for sure will bring new sorts of danger upon Exandria for sure, and honestly? No need to wait centuries to see the marks of that. I think it will happen sooner than we realize. Pretty sure greedy mages are already in plot to take what is not theirs and beyond.
I don't remember Matt blatantly saying that the Rites of Catatheosis weren't the best choice. However I remember him being excited of what that could bring in new and interesting stories after the Era of Reclamation, something to explore in the future.
Sticking with what we know and what has been explained by Matt, the Betrayer Gods are not really loose again. First of all, they're no more gods. Second of all, they're powers are diminished and it will take years if not decades for their mortal forms to remember who they were.
In his Fireside chat of February, Matt explained that Predathos has gone to the deep cosmos in search of food, just like any predator would. If by very bad luck someone is able to reconstruct the completely destroyed Rites of Ascension of the Matron to ascend to godhood AND Predathos is roaming near Exandria, then yes, Predathos will come and eat them. But it is really unlikely that he comes by Exandria again.
Still in his Firesie chat, Matt said that there will be some sort of "races" to find the mortal form of the gods. (as we've seen in the end of CE121 Pike has been warned that someone found the mortal form of the Everlight). Also yes, the power balance will be questionned and the mortals are now the new stewards of their domain. We know that the gods gave their followers a final vision, Asmodeus gave Teven Klask and other followers instructions. And the Matron gave clear assignement to both Vax and Morrighan Ferus.
I think for me it's Anna Ripley with Raishan close second.
Ripley was perhaps one of most dangerous people on Exandria. Granted, she's not a chromatic dragon nor a god, she's extremely intelligent and very evil. I also really like her backstory. Developping military technology for the Dwendalian Empire, fled to Port Damali where she met the Briarwoods, took a boat to Tal'Dorei and invaded Whitestone.
And I will never forget the first time I saw the events of Glintshore in the campaign, so much tension, so iconic!
So far nothing has been implied that Ludinus is interested of becoming the vessel for Predathos. Also, he's not a Ruidusborn.
With Otohan dead the vessel would either be Liliana or Imogen. Fearne is not an Exalted but Matt implied that with her Titan power she became something else/unique than Exalted, so maybe she could too.
I think it's a tough competition between Vecna, Ludinus and Predathos. A god, a 1000 years old mage that wants to release a god-eater, and the god-eater himself.
I know it's crazy to say, but I prefer fighting Obann or Lucien by far. Even Thordak honestly.
Even years later, there's some character details that the players or Matt haven't shared yet.
