I think it might be best at the Orym page under trivia, since that's where it's most relevant. It's not really relevant for Catha and Ruidus since it's specifically in relationship to Orym.
My joke is that it should be about Avantika to go two for two on elvish woman in Wildemount goes on a hunt for some round magical object at the divine direction of her god that slowly drives her off-kilter in her single-minded pursuit while her increasingly doubtful lover hovers in the background going, "Babe, I think we need to calm down because this is worrying."
More seriously, I'd love to see more of Dagen, just because I think he's really cool, and I love to know what other sorts of people go exploring in Eiselcross. (Also, you know I'm a Vandran stan, lmfao, so... that's still a viable answer too.) And if we're doing super niche NPCs, Jenna Iresor, girl, WHY did you want to become a member of the Assembly?
Seems like the play, since those are direct links to the podbean MP3s, and we don't want to throw links at people that might auto-download instead of playing in-browsers (depending on their personal settings).
Pinging @SeiverEl who has done specific work in this area. Updating the links doesn't need to be done by hand, but future-proofing them is hard because I think it depends on the structure of the website? Ideal would be the most direct link possible, I believe, because that'd least likely to be disrupted by things like changing the way the website structures their URLs, but at some level, they can always move the file itself.
I suppose the thing to do is find the most stable service or website. I believe the CritRole.com pages have versions that can be listened to directly off their website, and that might be a better and more stable alternative than the podbean website?
But, the links can be updated via a bot run for sure.
@PortsideHardtack TLOVM is hardline considered not canon to the campaigns and material related to the campaign continuity: see Matt's tweet. It's explicitly stated to be a wholly separate continuity.
I would certainly be glad to assist with that as well, as I usually watch the reruns so I can help keep an eye out.
I totally can help do the summary for Tiny Tina, especially since I have some familiarity with the setting. I think that helped a lot with writing the Elden Ring summary.
I think we should have pages considering it seems they may end up similar in the style and breadth of the C2 Wrap-Up and even the more temporally distant post-hiatus Talks. (Honestly, even weekly Talks often discussed an entire an month of episodes.) I think it would be worth it if editorship is attentive (much in the way we're becoming more attentive in one-shot coverage), especially since Dive is likely to become an notable reference show. Dedicated pages will especially help editors search for and verify information that ends up on various articles.
Personally, I do intend to fill out Talks in the near-future because the information contained therein is really important overall and fuller information would make our verification burdens easier. I've seen MoistGoth added the questions to some pages lately, which bodes well. But that's a separate convo.
I think we should have articles, and I would be glad to take on the responsibility of creating and updating those pages similar in the way you admirably tend to our episode plot summaries.
I mean, I guess, but it's not actually strictly necessary since it's back-end only (and technically, thinking about it now, it's better form to just go by campaign), but go ahead for consistency. I'll update this one since it needs to be updated across a bunch of articles and I can do that rather quickly.
I've been a vocal proponent of content moderators, and I do think any higher privileges, including those content mods, should all be subject to a minimum involvement rule. (WIkipedia administrators have a similar rule!)
This is true, though I always think trying to predict problems in advance is ultimately paralyzing. I do think we need to make the default differentiating between EXU and EXU:Kymal because otherwise we end up with the same problem as when we had episode 2x01 coded in as 116 if EXU keeps going intermittently.
E2x01 seems the way to go, because I'm not so insane to suggest EKyx01, though I hesitate to consider they decide to do a completely new EXU season that's labeled season 2—because at that point we're full back to drawing board. So, I'm now personally voting for E2x01 as the default bc it makes it clear it's separated from per branding but still sequential, with Ex09 as a secondary alias that processes the same as E2x01?
Ah! I was going to follow up on this tomorrow. Wonderful that the pages have been imported. I do want to note again (for our @CRAdmin, though of @KylaraE would like to delete them I don't complain) that we don't need to preserve the following pages because they were added by fans after the start of the stream and are verbatim transcripts of a post-stream material we already cover, so it's misleading to include it in archive:
These should be deleted because they're not actually archived materials on account of not being part of the original set of pages on that wiki. They were added afterward by a fan, so they are not part of the scope of what we're trying to preserve here, which is the wiki pages Matt created for notes.
How about EKx01 and EKx02? I think we should put both Ex09 / Ex10 and EKx01 / EKx02 for convenience, it's just a matter of which one is the actual default code, i.e. the one that shows up in the parentheses. I think EK makes it clearer that it's titled differently from the first eight episodes.
We know that Dorian is going to be in it. We don't know who the other players are going to be, so we don't even know if Liam and Ashley will be playing.
I personally presume it'll be set after 3.14, but we don't know that either.
Alas, alas, I have arisen feeling ill! I fear I may not be as useful as I had hoped!
But, yeah, will get this one done if nobody else has by the weekend, and can definitely still help out with some c/eing. And maybe I will be able to pitch in for the second half, idk.
That makes sense! Then I suppose my vote would just be for "Archive", as it'd make most sense under those conditions. We're unlikely to have problems with "Vox-Machina Archive" but that's too unique and thus not useful for other purposes going forward. (And I do think using it to archive the oft-disappearing Dropbox notes we have a lot of problems with might be useful!)
The revisions to strip would be revision 4197 (the current revision of "Quian") and revisions 4196, 4199, and 4203 (the three most recent revisions of "Westruun").
And that would be a good idea, to just link all these to each other within their own ecosystem. A handful of pages have redlinks, and I imagine we can just strip those out entirely.
Would it make sense just to call it "Vox-Machina"? Or "Vox-Machina Archive"?
Also, I did a quick scan of it, and we basically need all pages that are not the lists and not original Vox Machina party members. Their pages are transcripts of their introduction videos added by fans. Also, some pages should be preserved not as their current revisions, but as Matt's last revision because some people have updated the pages to significantly change lore on it. I've put together a list, following:
Abjurist Noja (current revision)
Bramblewood (there is only one revision)
Drez Vina (only one revision)
Elowen Brist (current revision)
Father Vart (current revision)
Fendril Vas (current revision)
Gatshadow (only one revision)
Grimthorne (only one revision)
Jeckt Wince (only one revision)
Lady Kima of Vord (current revision)
Margrave Atrix (only one revision)
Quian (revision 4112)
Realmseer Eskil Ryndarien (only one revision)
Simar, Keeper of the Temple (current revision)
Simon Brist (current revision)
Stilben (current revision)
The Arcana Pansophical (only one revision)
The Clasp (current revision)
The Tal’dorei Council (only one revision)
Ulf (only one revision)
Vistani (current revision)
Westruun (revision 4258)
Wilhand Trickfoot (current revision)
Essentially, these articles are of interest to us, all in their current revisions except for Quian and Westruun, which have been changed by outside editors to make a non-minor change (alter a deity's name to match stream lore rather than pre-stream stuff).
I will be watching it live and catching the rebroadcast (as I often do), so I can definitely help put a summary together. I hope it'll be a little more robust than a first pass on the CritRoleStats tweets.
On the rare occasion, I just manually type in a reference in the format {{ep ref}} puts out, clarify it's the Twitch video specifically, then have a "(subscription required)". Opal has such a reference. Twitch videos can also link to specific timestamps, which is useful.
I would just
See "EPISODE" on Twitch at X:XX:XX (subscription required)"or something similar to that.
I think then we should ask for explicit permission to crop art in cases where we want to do so. Generally, in my experience with fanartists, it's considered extremely rude to crop their signatures out (if not a capital sin), and our blanket permission does not clearly state that we'll have permission to crop it or that we may intend to do so. I do not think simply crediting is enough if we've cropped their signatures or watermarks out. We need to make it clear with all parties that we'll be cropping their signatures.
Also, maybe this is controversial but: we don't have to scramble to get an image on all pages, and if no image that suits the needs of the article because it's not in the right dimensions and cropped well, then we don't.... necessarily need to include an image.
And if you want to crop it, just go back and ask the artist if they're alright with that.
It would be nice if the page had context for who these characters are and a clearer criteria. The "Allies" and "Enemies" thing is at times rather narrow and awkward. (What if it was organized as "Main player characters", "Guest player characters", and "Major NPCs"?) And, yeah, I guess we should revisit that in some months, since it's no longer linked and see if it's still highly trafficked (i.e. people are actually seeking it out rather than just clicking what's up there).
