Following up on our discussion about chapters, I have drafted a set of pages and templates in my userspace for the story arcs in Campaign One and Campaign Two, which divides episodes into the groups used by Critical Role in their official recaps. The overall project page tracking all these new pages, as well as cataloguing the changes from the original chapter pages and ongoing issues that need to be resolved, can be found here.
Paradoxically, the goal in creating arcs is that they can fade into the background of the campaigns. Numbering here is sparse and only at the campaign level. There is also no implied continuation in the arc numbering across different campaigns, as that devalues other canon content like Exandria Unlimited. Chapters first came onto my radar when I discovered episode codes had a contradictory and overlapping numbering system. I have since automatically replaced every episode citation in articles that used chapter numbering to use campaign numbering instead, so at least this ambiguity is resolved. I have no plans to replace this with an arc numbering system either.
Please, any and all feedback is welcome! Nothing is finalized. Feel free to directly edit the pages in my userspace, I just put them there to avoid confusion. I am a data person, not an html or wiki design person, and there is much that could be better. In addition, a whole set of templates are empty and just waiting for you to fill in your content knowledge about the relevant NPCs, locations, and creatures for each arc, to go on each arc page. (I discovered a little template off by its lonesome that is used in Chapter 1 and nowhere else, and I'd love to see this resurrected.)
Many thanks also to FreckledMcCree who created an updated version of the episode table template for this project.
