I know the animated series doesn't come out until February, but I figure we can't be too prepared for the changes that it will introduce on the wiki. Right now, most of the sources of 'truth' about the world of Exandria cover different time periods and locations, so conflicting information between sources is minimal. Given that these new episodes will be retreading events that have already been laid out in Campaign One, there will almost certainly be conflicts between competing sources of truth. It's the closest thing in CR to a reboot.
Here are some cases from other fandoms that I thought were interesting and potentially useful: characters in Cowboy Bebop (where they have an original animated series and a live-action reboot), and The Witcher (where there are games, the original books, and a live-action series.) Both of these formats link character pages together and make it easy to get from one to the other. Aside from characters, The Witcher has multiple timelines but establishes one as canon. Lord of the Rings has an explicit policy about what counts as canon, and seems to prefer single articles of 'truth' instead of multiple versions.
If the differences between the VM animated series and the VM campaign are truly minimal, we can probably get away with adding new sections to existing articles that clarify which source information is from. They're keeping all the same actors after all and retaining creative control, so it's not a full reboot. But I don't want us to be afraid of creating new pages or sub-pages if it becomes appropriate. And maybe we will be able to anticipate some new templates that might need to be created. Mostly I'm interested in a discussion and your opinions: what if anything do you anticipate changing on here after the animated series is released?
